It’s January 1st

By Dee Taylor-Jolley

Ray Pelletier, CSP, CPAE, was a professional speaker, plus founder and president of The Pelletier Group, a consulting and coaching company.

Pelletier reasoned that you should make every day January 1st.

Why? Because there is something very powerful and magical about a new year!

A New Year’s mindset brings with it a new energy and new enthusiasm to make things happen and to do something incredible!

Consider today the first day of your new year. Get a renewed energy and enthusiasm to do something incredible!

Find your goal list.

Review where you are regarding your progress.

If for some strange reason, you’ve not written your goals, get pen and paper and get started!

If you have already hit some of your goals, focus on the ones yet to be accomplished.

If success has eluded you, refocus and double down on their completion.

When you review your goals, ask yourself, “If I could only hit one of these goals, which one would it be?”

Label that goal as #1.

Next, if you could work on only two goals, what other goal would you label as #2?

Do this for all your goals. This means you are prioritizing your goals.

Next, every evening, make a list of the top 5 things you want to accomplish the next day.

Then, prioritize them from 1 to 5.

The next morning, start working on #1 and keep at it until you finish it. Then, go to #2 and work on that until you complete it.

This is a proven simple technique that has helped millions of people achieve their goals and dreams.

This is the approach Charles Schwab used to help him grow U.S. Steel and become a multimillionaire.

Remember, it’s January 1st.

Get started on making the rest of the year, the best of the year!
